Annual Laser Storm National Competition

Laser Storm Nationals have been carried out annualy since 1996.

We have a unified set of National Rules and a Standard of play that allows equal and fair competition Nation-wide.

The majority of Laser Storm arenas are divided by a three foot high wall which the teams cannot cross, so this is the standard for National Compeition.  Though non-divided arenas do exist, and we have added modifications to our rules to allow compeition at these locations.

One year after the first national competition, Laser Storm Coporate closed down.  At it's peak there were over 300 locations worldwide.  As of 2010 there are around 60 still operating in the US.  Those locations are serviced by Laser WARS, the warrenty service of Laser Storm.  While the technology is aging, the system is still a competative laser tag format, and Laser WARS continues to sell new systems. 

Many of the centers that were home to some of the best teams have closed down.  Jester's Court, the Wisconsin Dells and about all the stores in Colorado.  Nationals is kept alive by the thriving player base in Pittsburgh, and continued participation of Laser Storm teams in the annual Armageddon tournament which is a cross-system tournament.

If you would like to bid to host Nationals, please use the contact form on this site.  If you don't hear from someone in a few days, please visit laserstorm.org (Pittsburgh Laser Storm Site), and give them a call.  We like to have the location set at least a year in andvance, so please don't expect to be able to bid for the current year.

We try to keep Nationals around the same time as Armageddon which is always on the 4th of July weekend.  There are players from all over the world that play Armageddon, and many of them try to fit in as many other system tournaments as possible.
