Resurrection Draft

09/12/2010 16:00
America/New York

Draft day for Fall Leagues.

We will get together at the arena to form teams.  Minimum of 12 players is required to hold leagues.

You can find all the information about the leagues here:  http://jesterscourt.net/?q=node/84

You will be sent an email reminder the day before the draft.  Please fill in your phone number so we can contact you quickly if needed.

You will have two options for what team you will play with.  You can enter the draft which is highly recommended.  Or you can try to bring your own team, which would have to be approved of by the draft captains.  The bring your own team option is if you really want to play with friends, but you can't bring a team that is too strong, this is why captain approval is required.

Team captains will be able to schedule their team's games with the other captains.  The only restriction is getting someone with keys to open the place up.

Fall 2010 Laser Storm League Season: Resurrection

Team size dependent on number of entrants. See table below.

There will be a new arena on November 7th for regional tournament on the 13th.

Nationals XIV Results

1st Place: Extreme Dump Truck on Fire!!! of Pittsburgh, PA
2nd Place: Act Right of Warren, OH
3rd Place: Vendetta of Pittsburgh, PA
4th Place: Infinite of Pittsburgh, PA
5th Place: Fighting For Fifth of Warren, OH

Last week the new JC Reloaded @ Skyway Drive-In hosted the 14th annual Laser Storm National Championships.

There were two days of Round Robin with a double elimination finals.

The game for second place was won by 3 points, and the final game was won by 7.

This was a last minute tournament, and even so I am happy the way it turned out.  I'm working on statistics, I found a couple of flaws with my stat program and I am working through them.  The medals that were handed out for awards are accurate, as those stats were compiled by hand.

I do have some stats for the tournament itself:

Nationals XIV Day 1

Not much happened today.  We tweaked the arena, no games were played.

Nationals Progress

Progress on Nationals XIV is coming along nicely.

We have a whole bunch or arena design submissions.  The ones from Pittsburgh are already posted, some more from our area will get posted later.

The trophies are ordered and will be here on time.  The player trophies are a bit smaller than the past, but not much.  There are trophies for the top three teams.  The first and second place team also get store trophies.

I also have medals for the round robin placements.  We have Most Player Hits, Most Pod Hits, Best Ratio, Best Accuracy, and of course, Least Hits Taken.

T-Shirts are almost complete, and many of you have made your deposit so I will have a good order.

Since I know most of the teams, I will be able to add everyone to the database.  As of now I think we stand at 5 teams.  Not too bad for everything being last minute.

We will be working on the arena some more this Saturday.  I'm not going to get into any major projects.  Just try to make Pod housings if I can, and get more equipment up to par.
